As you know, the food pyramid is based on habits that should be implemented at least five times a week.

  • This level includes  one hour of exercise per day.
  • Organic products are recommended for fruits and vegetables.
  • Food should be more conducive to human well-being. It should not be contaminated with insecticides and should be both more  environmentally friendly and more socially and economically sustainable.
  • As for body hydration,  water, tea and coffee are recommended instead of other options. Tea and coffee are even better than natural juices, as fruits can be high in sugar.

At this level, it becomes clear what things should be done constantly.

  • As you already know, it would be best to choose products made from whole grains. They give you slow-acting carbohydrates.
  • Because of this, you get the energy you need from whole grain products, plus you get plenty of fiber, iron, magnesium and zinc. All of these factors  facilitate digestive function and keep your metabolism at a good level.
  • In addition to getting the benefits mentioned above, you can also feel fuller so that you can  more effectively avoid cravings.
  • The pyramid also includes extra virgin olive oil to the extent that it is important for a person  to get healthy fats and Omega-3 fatty acids. However, it is essential that this oil be consumed crude, as heating destroys this “liquid gold” structure. In fact, the hotter this oil is, the more harmful it is to you, so olive oil  should not be used for frying food.

At the last level of the pyramid are then meats and industrially processed foods. Perhaps the most important thing about this new category is that the model warns of the risks associated with high-protein diets.

However, many diets for weight loss are just that. However, keep in mind that it  is not an easy task for your liver to combine proteins, so their misuse is harmful.

On the other hand, taking nutrient supplements is acceptable every now and then, but it is best to take them only under medical supervision.
