Eating fruit peel is still one of the things that is hotly debated. Do all fruits have to be peeled before eating, or can apple peel, for example, be eaten?

  • Apple. Apple peel contains ursolic acid, which keeps muscles healthy. The acid also has an anti-inflammatory effect, keeps blood cholesterol stable and promotes collagen production. At the same time, you get your body to use pectin and fiber to prevent constipation.
  • Pear.  The peel of the pear is rich in antioxidants that keep the body healthy and diseases at bay. The shell is high in vitamin C, so it’s worth enjoying it completely. In addition, the peel of the pear contains easily digestible fiber, which enhances digestive function and prevents the development of constipation and certain diseases such as colon cancer.
  • Citrus fruits.  Citrus peel contains a lot of antioxidants, as the peel is largely composed of flavonoids. Flavonoids prevent e.g. development of breast and skin cancer and reduce the risk of circulatory diseases. In addition, citrus peel is rich in vitamin C, which has a diuretic, relaxing, digestive and blood purifying effect.

  • Grapes.  Grape skins and seeds containing flavonoids , anthocyanin pigment and resveratrol protect blood vessels and keep the heart in good condition. In addition, grapes contain a large number of antioxidants.
  • Banana.  Banana peel is not often used in Western countries, but did you know that peel has many antibiotic effects? Banana peel can be eaten raw, fried or cooked after thorough washing. The inner surface of the banana peel can be rubbed into the teeth as it whitens the teeth.
