Health effects of whole grain pasta

Cereal products

To make this food even healthier, replace plain pasta with whole grain pasta made from unprocessed whole grains.

Whole grain pasta contains bran, sprouts and endosperm from grain and thus has more dietary fiber as well as protein. It also contains more minerals such as potassium, phosphorus and magnesium, among others.

These macronutrients are slowly absorbed, so their energy is gradually released and helps you feel full for longer.

Such pasta has very little fat. It contains mainly plant sterols, which are cholesterol-like substances in fruits, vegetables, nuts, and grain products. In fact, they help lower LDL cholesterol, meaning they are good for heart health. Whole grain pasta is suitable for diets designed to control hypercholesterolemia. Its fibers also favor the regulation of cholesterol and blood glucose.

Health effects of shrimp

Shrimp

Shrimp is a crustacean with 80 kcal / 1 kg. It contains a large amount of water as well as protein.

This small animal has relatively high cholesterol levels, as one dose already covers half of the recommended cholesterol in a healthy and balanced diet. However, if eaten in moderation and in conjunction with certain foods such as whole grain pasta, it can be added to a heart-friendly diet without any problems.

Shrimp also contains large amounts of essential minerals such as iodine, zinc, potassium and phosphorus. It is also high in vitamin B12 : one serving doubles the recommended daily allowance of this nutrient.
