What you should know about sage

Sage is a spice plant that comes from the Mediterranean region. It belongs to the same genus as mint and grows like a shrub. Its leaves are oval and green, and the flowers are red, pink, or white. Sage has a long history as a medicinal plant and ingredient in many ‘herbal drinks’. It used to be said that a person eating sage leaves would get more wisdom.

Salvia has several uses from gastronomy to beauty treatments. It is used in both skin creams and hair care products because of its delicious scent. Depending on your taste preferences, it can be used in the preparation of various meals.

Here are some characteristics of sage:

  • Sage is anti-inflammatory, meaning it helps relieve muscle pain, rheumatism and arthritis.
  • It is astringent.
  • It is an effective antiseptic, a great way to get rid of throat infections.
  • It can be used for abdominal or muscle cramps and cramps.
  • Fights viruses and bacteria.
  • Contains a large amount of vitamins A and C.
  • Strengthens the immune system.
  • Relieves respiratory and digestive problems.

How does sage help to get a flatter stomach?

This is a very frequently asked question and needs to be explained.

This plant, which is often used in cooking as well as in beauty treatments, has absolutely brilliant properties that act as a remedy for various diseases or disorders. As mentioned above, it is great for people who want a flat stomach in a short amount of time. Thus, it is a great addition for women (and men) who are on a diet regimen, as among other benefits, sage has the ability to regulate digestion.

sage has many uses

Drinking sage extract or tea can prevent and relieve bloating caused by, for example, overeating or eating something the body is not so used to (very fatty and heavy foods, chocolate, etc.). It is also used as a way to avoid eating “treats” on a diet.

This plant can be used in the form of an incubator. The incubator helps to cleanse the body and get rid of toxins that are harmful to it.

Among other things, sage stimulates the gallbladder, helps fight constipation, promotes intestinal function and helps get rid of flatulence. It helps to remove gas that has accumulated in the body (one cause of bloating) and makes it easier to remove fluid (especially from the ankles and feet).

Dried sage is suitable for making sage tea

Making sage tea is really easy. Put only 15 grams of dried or fresh plants (leaves and flower parts) in a liter of boiling water.

Fresh sage does just fine at home and can be kept in a flowerpot, garden, balcony or kitchen in plenty of sunlight, or alternatively, you can buy dried sage from an eco or herbal store.

When you mix the sage with water, let it simmer for three minutes. Then add the lemon juice to taste, and if desired, you can sweeten the tea with a small amount of stevia or pure bee honey. An unsweetened tea drink can be a little bitter, depending on your own taste habits.

This amount should be enough for three to four days. During this time, in addition to drinking sage tea, you should eat healthily. Enjoy lots of fruits and vegetables, especially those that cleanse the body.

You can drink sage tea cold or hot. We recommend drinking it on an empty stomach in the morning, as this will promote the digestive system to function better and more effectively throughout the day, removing fats and toxins from the body.

You can store the drink in a container with a lid (e.g. in a bottle or jar) in the refrigerator and drink it as iced tea for thirst or warmth in the winter, or even during breaks during the working day.
