Say goodbye to flatulence quickly and effectively

The exercises below are ideal for situations where you feel uncomfortable due to air trapped in your gut and when you need quick relief.

1. Child position

You can say goodbye to flatulence, for example, using a child position.

Perhaps you already know this position, known as balasana.

  • In this position, kneel on the ground and sit on your feet.
  • Then stretch your arms forward.

We recommend holding the position for at least two minutes. In this way, the body relaxes and gets rid of intestinal gases. This position can also be done the other way around, face up.

  • As you lie on your back, hook one leg and hug it against yourself. Start swinging back and forth.
  • Even better is if you get caught in the feet.

2. Degassing position

The degassing position helps with flatulence.

The name of this position says it all. It is one of the most effective positions for flatulence.

  • Lie face down on the ceiling and stretch your legs straight. Bend the other leg, grasp it and hold it close to you.
  • This is a similar movement to the child position. The closer you get to your knee, the better.
  • Hold this position for at least 30 seconds.
  • One adaptation of the movement: when you hug your foot, try to touch your nose with your knee. This makes the movement more demanding and efficient.

3. Aura

The aura position is often used in yoga.

The aura position is used a lot in yoga and is a great exercise for flatulence.

  • Lie on your back and straighten your legs towards the ceiling.
  • If you can, lift your body so that you are only resting on your upper back.

Initially, you can assist the movement with your hands by holding them under your lower back. Then progressively move in motion so that you get your legs outstretched over your head. You can leave your hand like this if it is more comfortable. Some prefer them on the sides of the body. Be very careful with this movement. If you have neck problems, don’t move. Otherwise, it can get very good results.

4. Camels

The camel position helps to eliminate intestinal gases.

Even this last exercise gives great results.

  • Kneel on the ground, but do not sit on your feet. Let your arms hang down and bend your upper body backwards.
  • The idea is to form an arch on the body and touch the feet with your hands.

To make the position more comfortable, make sure your head stays relaxed. You can rest on your toes or your feet against the floor.

Information on flatulence

While intestinal gas can be caused by many different things, diet is one very common cause. They can be caused by eating plenty of processed foods, eating fast, or eating foods that typically form gas (beans or broccoli).

Sometimes, however, it is food intolerance, constipation, or irritable bowel syndrome. If flatulence causes pain and discomfort, these exercises can be of great help.

It is important to mention that an immobile lifestyle can also cause intestinal gases. These exercises not only help get rid of flatulence, but they also get the body moving.
