I bleached clothes with natural substances

clothing bleaching

Most bleaching products use bleach. Bleach is a toxic compound that is harmful to the environment and, when used for a long time, even degrades the condition of the garment itself. The bleach weakens the fibers of the garment, which can lead to tearing and unraveling of the garment. The bleach literally whitens and brightens white clothes and removes stains, but its effect is short-lived. Bleach can only be used on white and light clothing and can cause stains and light spots on darker clothing.

Instead of toxic bleach, try plain baking soda, lemon and hydrogen peroxide, as they do not brittle the garment but make it look bright and clean.

1. Whiter curtains

Especially kitchen light curtains can darken over time, as kitchen air usually floats smoke and grease that sticks to fabrics. Fresh curtains by pouring hot water into a large bucket or bathtub and add a tablespoon of baking soda. Stir and allow the curtains to soak in water until the water has cooled. Wash normally in the washing machine. You are guaranteed to get bright white and clean curtains.

2. Tablecloth bleaching

This is easy and works in the same way as curtain bleaching. Apply hydrogen peroxide to areas with stains. Then place the tablecloth in a bucket or tub and pour hot water on it. Let soak for a few hours and wash in the washing machine. You will find that the stains have been removed or completely removed with hydrogen peroxide.

3. Bleaching of clothes

When you are washing white laundry that you would like to refresh and brighten, you can use baking soda. Dissolve a tablespoon of baking soda in a glass of water and pour on clothing. Never use baking soda per se, as it can damage clothing. The best way is to dissolve it in water and apply to clothes before machine washing. Put the clothes in the machine and wash normally. You can also use lemon juice for this.

Remove odors from clothing

baking soda for washing clothes

Sometimes the smells don’t seem to leave the garment at all. Shirts in particular can stink even after a good wash, and the musty smell doesn’t take off even if you try different detergents. The smell of sweat can get stuck, especially in sportswear. Try one of these three ways to permanently remove the odor:

1. Make an odor-removing paste out of water and baking soda

I need half a teaspoon of baking soda mixed with half a glass of water. Mix well and apply the paste to areas where the smell is stuck, such as the armpits. Rub the paste on the cloth and wash normally in the washing machine.

2. Vinegar

Mix half a glass of vinegar with the same amount of water and pour into a spray bottle. Spray on areas where the odor is stuck, leave on for 10 minutes and wash normally in the machine.

3. Lemon juice

You may have used lemon juice in the past even to clean your home, and lemon juice is one of the most convenient and easiest ways to disinfect and refresh both your home and your clothes. Citric acids effectively remove sweat odor from clothing. Mix half the lemon juice with the same amount of water, dip the mixture in a sponge or rag and press into the area where the smell is. Leave on for 10 minutes and wash in the normal way in the washing machine.

Easy tricks for removing stains from laundry

1. Oil stains

If your clothes have run out of oil during cooking, for example, one easy way to get rid of it is to use talcum powder. Apply to the oil stain and allow the talc to soak up the oil from the fabric. Leave the talc on for 24 hours. Wash in the washing machine as usual.

2. Unpack clothes

A jar stuck in a garment is a horror for many mothers. When children are treated, the jar may drip from the mouth and slip into the fabric, or the child may have inadvertently sat on the jar. The jar can be difficult to remove as it does not come off during normal washing or even after soaking. Fortunately, there are two effective tricks for removing the demolition. You can put the clothes in the freezer and let the jar solidify. Take the garment out of the frost when the jar is completely frozen, and shake off the hardened jar. Another, faster way is to rub the gasoline into the can (use gloves) and scrape it off.

3. Makeup stains

Makeup stains can sometimes appear on shirts and especially on the neckline just because your face hits the fabric when you wear or take off your clothes. Brownish stains are often caused by make-up cream or powder. But by what miracle can stains be removed without ruining the garment? This is surprisingly easy. You need a drop of vinegar mixed with the same amount of water. Rub on makeup stain with a sponge or piece of cloth and allow to soak for half an hour. Wash the clothes in the washing machine as usual.

4. Blood stains

Dried blood stains are difficult to remove. It is not always possible to rinse off the blood immediately and when it dries, the blood freezes on the fabric. Always remember to rinse the blood stain immediately with cold water. Fortunately, if you can’t remove the stain right away, you can get it removed later with hydrogen peroxide. Rub a drop of hydrogen peroxide on the stain and leave on for half an hour. Put the garment in the washing machine and wash as usual.

We hope these instructions and tips encourage you to try washing clothes and removing stains with natural methods! Wash your laundry Eco-friendly and your skin will thank you.
